My college morning routine has really differed semester to semester. While I don’t consider myself an expert by any means, I definitely have found what works for me in college regarding my morning routine over the last few years!
The first thing I do in the morning is open my blinds in my room, I want as much natural light as possible to help wake me up. I then put on my morning playlist. While listening to my playlist, I sit in front of my “happy lamp” for 10-15 minutes while I brush my hair and do my makeup. I find that when I sit in front of my happy lamp in the morning, I am able to wake up faster and stay more awake throughout the day. I need all the help I can get when it comes to staying awake especially if I stay up late!
My makeup routine definitely changes day to day depending on how much time I have. Most days I wear no makeup or do my quick three-minute makeup routine. I made a YouTube video on how I do all of my makeup in only 3 minutes which is perfect for early mornings or if you are running late:
After my hair and makeup is done, I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth and then I pick out an outfit for the day. Since I don’t live in a dorm that is connected to a dining hall, I have to go outside and walk a few minutes (and by a few minutes I mean 30 seconds because it is SO close).
Before I leave for breakfast, I double check my backpack that I packed the night before to make sure I have everything I need for the day. I also check my planner so that I know what I have going on throughout the day.
My morning routine is simple but it helps me prepare for the day and puts me in a happy and productive mood! Do you have a morning routine? If so, what is your favorite part about it?
