I, unfortunately, only had one day to spend in Vienna. I say unfortunately because I seriously could have spent an entire week (or more) in that lovely city. As a huge classical music fan, I found it so intriguing to visit the home of so many musical geniuses. I packed a lot into one day in Vienna and I want to show you how you too can do the same!
Where I Stayed in Vienna
I stayed at Wombat’s Hostel. This was by far my favorite hostel I have stayed in so far and I especially liked the added privacy of staying in a four bed room. This hostel was incredibly clean and it felt more like a hotel with its newly renovated bathrooms and cute furniture. It was also right next to a metro stop and a grocery store which was really convenient. I ended up buying their all you can eat breakfast buffet for 4.50 euro which I personally didn’t think was worth it however, if you eat a lot for breakfast, this would be a good option for you.
How I Got Around in Vienna
Vienna was the first city (other than Amsterdam of course) that I took the subway everywhere! I knew that in order to see everything I wanted to see that I needed to take the subway. I bought a 24 hour pass and was able to get everywhere I needed/wanted to go very easily. The city is incredibly easy to navigate with public transportation—just make sure you have a map on hand! The hostel provided me a very detailed one when I checked in which I used the whole day.

I’ve always wanted to visit Vienna! Ever since we’ve talked about it in my German class, I’ve been dying to visit the city.
