I (finally!) feel settled into my new home! This weekend we had Fall Break and I was able to finish unpacking, organize and clean my desk/shelves/bed! (oh and catch up on FIVE loads of laundry…)
My roommate and I absolutely love our room this year! Not only do we have a beautiful sunset view, but we also have much more space than we did last year. To celebrate fall, I bought a few items from Target’s dollar section including some cute Halloween tins and the pumpkin pillow you can see on our window seat.
One of my favorite parts of my decor this year is my pictures that I have hanging over my desk with different colored clothes pins. This project is super cheap and easy and is a quick way to cover up an empty wall. I printed my photos at Walgreens and bought the clips/string from Michael’s Craft store. I then hung them up with clear command hooks.
I also invested in a tapestry to hang over my bed and hung Christmas lights behind it so it looks really beautiful and cozy at night! The throw pillows (here and here) were also a quick and easy way to add some color to my room!
To make your room feel like home, hang up lots of pictures of friends and family! Make sure your room is somewhere that you enjoy being. I consider my room to be my favorite place on campus and that is because I put a lot of work into making it cozy. My bed has lots of blankets and pillows (which makes it hard to get out of in the morning!) Bringing some items from your room at home can make it feel more personal!
