I’m so excited to share with you this beautiful engagement session. Maddy and Lee were absolute gems and I had the best time photographing their engagement portraits at Cuesta Park in Mountain View this spring. We met during golden hour, as per usual for Shannon May Brown ;), and nature was showing off y’all! It was gorgeous. After weeks of rain, I was pinching myself when I saw how beautiful this golden sunshine was…a photographer’s dream!
On top of the beautiful weather, Maddy and Lee were absolute naturals in front of the camera which made my job so easy and so fun. The chemistry between these two was palpable and I barely had to direct them—they were absolute naturals (despite this being their first time getting professional portraits!).
They have known each other for years, and can’t wait to tie the knot this upcoming fall. Cuesta Park, one of their favorite outdoor areas, seemed like the perfect place to capture their love.
But you guys, it’s about to get EVEN BETTER because THEY BROUGHT THEIR DOG. Yes, I repeat. There are dog pictures coming below. I love when couples get personal during their session and incorporate something (or someone!) they love. For Maddy and Lee, their engagement photos wouldn’t feel complete without their fur baby, Splash.
I told you it was going to get even better! Isn’t he adorable? He was so good during the session, and especially loved his close up. Doesn’t he just look so happy by the fact that his parents are getting married?!
Many of my engagement packages give couples the option to bring multiple outfits, and I often encourage one dressy and one casual outfit to give you a range of photos that they can use for everything from Save the Dates, to reception décor.
Maddy and Lee’s second outfit has special significance, and when they told me the story behind their Nike shirts, I died…it’s so cute.
The story behind their Nike shirts extends beyond their affinity for sports (one of them is a gym teacher!)…they met at Nike years ago when they both worked there! These Nike “Groom” and “Bride” shirts were a perfect tribute to the place where their love story began.
I hope you enjoyed looking through this Northern California engagement gallery. I’m so lucky to work with couples like Maddy + Lee—I love my job so much!
